Mali: cautious calm in the capital after military clashes
Bamako agencies: calm prevailed warned the financial capital Bamako after clashes between rival military factions yesterday, killing two people and injuring 13 others, while fighting continued against the rebels in the north.
The President condemned the provisional Dioncounda Traore clashes between military units and Almazll known as "Red Berets" loyal to former President Amadou Toumani Toure, who was ousted in a coup last year.
Traore said on state television, "I am deeply saddened by clashes within the Malian army," calling for a "definitive end" to the fighting.
Prosecutors had in Mali said they issued international arrest warrants for terrorism-related and other charges against the leaders of rebel groups and groups of Tuareg.
