Sanaa and agencies: the Republican Guard forces withdrew from the camp in the Yemeni province of pilgrimage after clashes with gunmen from the tribes have killed two soldiers and another person.
An officer in the Republican Guard forces, led by the son of President Ali Abdullah Saleh said that "clashes with gunmen from the tribes began late Sunday and intensified yesterday, killing two soldiers and wounding three others."
"As a result the fighting other tribes and sympathy with the attackers, we had to pull out on Monday afternoon in order to preserve the lives of everyone we took up arms and left the camp."
For his part, said Sheikh Saleh Alia "We are the tribes of the boy in a marginal Paus and we were able to control the camp of Mount Aer after violent clashes lasted for days," referring to the killing of one insurgent and wounding two others.
"We did not enter the camp so far, fearing the presence of explosives or mines, or we come under aerial bombardment, but he is under our control."
He added that "more than seventy soldiers surrendered and released immediately, according to tribal customs."
